OUR THANKSGIVING

The crew from KC arrived on Wednesday night. On Thanksgiving Day, Tracy, Michelle, Tad, Carter and Karlie, Kim and Abby were all at our house for Thanksgiving Dinner. We divided up the making of the dishes and I ended up only having to make the dressing, which made it seem really easy.   It sure is nice to have their help.  Our dinner consisted of Turkey, dressing, Honey Baked ham, potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, English pea salad, Sister Shubert dinner rolls and pies for dessert. It was all really good.

After dinner we did the photo shoot for our Christmas cards. We asked permission to use our neighbors backyard.  She had it decorated so cute for Christmas.  It was perfect for a Christmas card background.

The little girls.
Michelle did theirs for their card also.

Tad and Carter went to the store Thanksgiving night to get milk and came back with this bear.  Karlie squealed when they walked in the door with it.
On Friday Kim and Tracy took Abby and Karlie to Playtime Pizza.  They really enjoyed being together.
On Friday Melvin, Tad, Michelle and Carter played golf. Michelle got some really good pictures of them. It is the golf course that we live on and it is really pretty this time of year. It was a little cool but not too bad.
The first time for Carter to play 18 holes but he did really good.

KARLIE TURNS SEVEN

Karlie's birthday was yesterday and she turned seven. Doesn't seem possible that our youngest grand-child is already seven.  Her party was at a vintage jewelry store.  Just little girls were invited and they  made jewelry. We didn't go this year.  Too many conflicts. One couldn't get off work. One didn't need to travel and some health problems with another.  I do miss going to Kansas City at this time of year.  It is my favorite time to go with all the trees turning and all the yards covered in leaves.

We will see our KC family for Thanksgiving though.  Looking forward to all of us being together and we plan to go in January to KC and take the grand-kids to Great Wolf Lodge.  It will be for both Karlie and Abby's birthday since Abby will be turning eight in January.

HALLOWEEN/2016

Miss Abby/She is dressed up as a mermaid.
Miss Karlie is dressed as a witch and I have no idea what Carter is suppose to be dressed as.
We went over to Tracy's last night and Melvin handed out candy. I thought she would have had more trick-or-treaters than she did. Several flat bed trailers with hay and kids on top of the hay came through but most didn't cut down her street. Kids have it made now,  they have golf carts to ride in and don't have to do a lot of walking like my kids did. We saw several golf carts as we were leaving her neighborhood.  With all the hills in her neighborhood, I would want to be riding in a golf  cart also.

Doesn't Melvin look happy? He did want to hand out the candy, just didn't want to have his picture taken.
