CHRISTMAS IN ARKANSAS 2012

We spent Christmas this year with Kim and family in Arkansas and it was quite eventful. The seven day forecast for Oklahoma called for a blizzard starting on Christmas Day. So, we kept an eye on the weather and decided to go ahead and leave early Sunday morning. We made it just fine and it started raining at Kim's house Christmas Day afternoon and quickly turned to freezing rain. By night time it had turned to snow. On Wednesday morning we woke up to eight inches of snow. It was a beautiful snow. The tree limbs were all covered in snow. But, that is when the problems start with tree limbs breaking and causing power outages. The power went off one time at Kim's house Tuesday night but came back on quickly. We were the lucky ones. Over 70,000 homes in the Little Rock area were without power on Wednesday. Some were told it would be a week before power was restored. Oh and BTW Oklahoma City only received an inch of snow.
We did our Christmas Eve tradition by going out to eat pizza.

After the snow started accumulating on the grass Tuesday night, Abby had her daddy go out and get her some snow to eat. He brought it in and told her to never eat yellow snow. After a few minutes Abby told Tracy she was going to make a yellow snowman the next day. Tracy then explained to her why she didn't eat yellow snow and that she would not be making a yellow snowman.

CHRISTMAS 2012

We did not put up the big tree this year. No one will be coming to our house for Christmas this year. We will be going to Arkansas to celebrate with Kim and family.Tracy will be going to Arkansas also. This is Michelle and family's year to go to Northwest Mo. to celebrate with Tad's family. So, we just decided to put up this small one, but I do miss the big one.

TREE LIGHTING IN DOWNTOWN OKLAHOMA CITY

Everyone went downtown last night to see the tree lighting. Tracy's company sponsors it. We had a cold spell come through over night, so it was cold. You can tell it was cold by the way everyone is bundled up. Carter and Karlie even got their picture taken with Santa. Karlie was not afraid of him but had decided she was not going to smile. Maybe I will have that picture of them with Santa to share later. Carter and Karlie

YESTERDAY

We went over to Tracy's house yesterday. The cats all ran when we came in but Mimi eventually came out. She would not let Carter and Karlie pet her though.
She finally ran and hid under the entertainment center and they are trying to get her to come out with treats. She would come out just enough to  eat her treats.
Michelle had us take their family picture for their Christmas card.

OUR THANKSGIVING

Michelle and family arrived from Kansas City on Wednesday. It was a beautiful day here on Thanksgiving Day. The temperature was 76 degrees. The kids played out in the yard while the turkey cooked. Tracy made a carrot cake from scratch. It was really good. Tracy gave Karlie the spatula after she finished frosting it for her to lick. Karlie thought the frosting was really good.

KARLIE TURNS THREE

Karlie's birthday party was a success. I think Karlie really enjoyed it and had a big day. I know that Abby did also. The party had a Dora theme. Dora is Karlie's favorite. Karlie said all she wanted for her birthday was a Dora cake and Dora balloons. I think she kind of enjoyed all the neat gifts she
received though.

Michelle rented a bouncing house for the kids. They really had fun playing in it. That is where they stayed for most of the party.

Lots of good food to eat. I didn't get a picture of all of it.
This big Dora balloon was a big hit at the party.

No, neither Karlie or Abby drink from a bottle. There was a six month old little boy at the party.
