C AND KARLIE'S CHRISTMAS

C and Karlie spent their Christmas in N W Missouri with their dad's family. C was happy that Santa brought him everything on his list. We still have a Christmas to celebrate with M and family which will be in Arkansas on A's birthday in about three weeks.

Looks like Karlie likes the little pony that Santa brought her.

HOW PLANS CAN CHANGE

Hubby and I had planned on getting up Thursday morning and leaving for Arkansas to spend Christmas with K and family. But, on Tuesday, my sister called and said that my mother had fallen and broken her hip early that morning and would have surgery the next day.

My mother will be 94 years old in March and I was afraid she might not make it through the surgery. So, hubby and I decided to go ahead and leave on Wednesday morning to be with her at the hospital. We did not make it in time for her surgery, because it is a 9 hour trip to Oxford Ms. where she was having the surgery. We got a hotel room and spent the night and was able to spend most of the next day with her.

She came out of the surgery fine or as well as could be expected of an 93 year old woman. But, my niece told me that when she woke up that she asked where she was and they told her she was in a hospital and that she just had surgery. She said that she had lived 93 years and had a hard life and she was ready to go. She was hoping to not make it through the surgery.

When she fell early that morning at the nursing home, she screamed and screamed until she could not scream anymore. No one heard her. Then she took the metal trash can in her bathroom and beat on it until someone heard her. Her hand and arm is a solid bruise. She is and always has been a tough lady.

We left on Thursday to go back to Little Rock to spend Christmas with K and family. We arrived around six on Thursday night and T arrived about an hour later. K had a big pot of tortilla soup cooking for us. It was so good.

OUR CHRISTMAS.........................................................

Our tradition every since ours kids were little was to go to a movie and then out to eat pizza on Christmas Eve. We started this tradition because we lived so far away from our family and could not celebrate with them. So, we continued that tradition this Christmas Eve by all of us going to Pizza Hut. Abby enjoying her sprite. She only gets sprite on special occasions.

Back home on Christmas Eve deciding she needs to take more ornaments off the tree.

This is Christmas morning. A came out and sat in her chair and ask her mom if it was hers. She kept saying all mine. Her mom had to keep reassuring her that it was all hers.

Playing with the kitchen set that Aunt T gave her.

Another tradition of ours has been eating pancakes on Christmas morning after all the gifts have been opened. Pap-pa does the cooking. A sure enjoyed hers.
The chair that momo and pap-pa gave her.

Eating Christmas cookies made by her other grandmother.

We ended up traveling 1250 miles this Christmas. But, we had a good Christmas, even though things didn't go as planned. Christmas is always more fun when seen through the eyes of a child.

ALMOST THERE

Hubby left yesterday to go to the Dallas Cowboys game in Dallas. His company gets a suite each year and he takes agents down for a game. Yeah, I know he has a rough job. But, since he was gone T and I decided to go out to eat. Then go through Starbucks and get some hot chocolate and drive around and look at Christmas lights.
These are some pictures of the university in our city. It is actually the university that K attended. The lights are just so much prettier in person.

I have all my shopping done and all my gifts wrapped. We did not put up a tree this year. First time in probably over thirty years. Just didn't want to go to the hassle of putting one up, since we will not be here for Christmas and then having to take it down once we get back. We will be leaving in a few days to go and spend Christmas in Arkansas with K and family. I can't wait to see A's excitement when she sees what all is under the tree for her on Christmas morning.

SPOOKED AT SANTA

This is a picture of C and Karlie's twin first cousins. They obviously did not want to sit on Santa's lap. Their mom sent this picture into Parent's magazine and this picture can be viewed and rated on Parent's.com.

C'S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

C's pre-school Christmas program was last night.
These pictures were taken before the program at their house.
Santa always makes an appearance at the program so the kids can talk to him. I don't imagine Karlie cared about talking to him.

MISS A'S PHOTO SHOOT

I needed a picture of A to put on my Christmas cards, so K took her out and tried to get a good one of her. She didn't get many of her smiling, but I think I will be able to use one of them.

I probably won't use this one on my card, but I thought it was cute.

They are flying back to Arkansas tomorrow. We sure are going to miss them.

MISS A AND HER MOMMY

MISS A

Miss A is eating spaghetti with the baby doll. Miss A is way too big to sit in a high chair, so her mommy brought down the table and chairs from the play room for her to sit at and eat.

Aunt T chasing her before we went out to eat last night. We went to a little barbecue place not far from us and after waiting for over an hour for our food, A had had enough, so we just ask to get the food to go and came home and ate.

We plan on taking A today and having her picture made with Santa but not sure how that is going to go over.

GUESS WHO HAS ARRIVED?

K and A got in really late on Tuesday night. The flight had been delayed an hour both ways. K said A didn't do very well on the flight from Little Rock to Dallas but she did fine on the flight from Dallas to Oklahoma City. She was most interested in Lulu when she arrived. They got reacquainted quickly. She calls Lulu "ow" for meow. I tell her that she likes Lulu a lot more than Lulu likes her.

We didn't really do anything yesterday, except just lounge around the house. It was very cold here yesterday. But, today, it is really nice. It is in the sixties. So, we decided we would go meet Aunt T on her lunch break at Ted's. Our favorite Mexican restaurant. But, first Momo had to entertain Miss A for her Mommy to shower and get dressed. I am so thankful for Barney.

Miss A watching Barney. I tell her every morning when she gets up, she has bed hair. She also has a bruise on her face, a skinned place on her nose and she fell last night and burst her lip.

This is her favorite show. She stops everything she is doing and watches it when it comes on.

But, when we got to Ted's, A did not want to eat. She just wanted to sit in Mommy's lap.

And eat her sucker.

Wonder why there is no candle on the candle holder?

Looking cute.

GO POKES

C and Karlie wanted to say "GO POKES". But, the Pokes lost last night. It was a good game though. M and family left to go back home yesterday afternoon, so it is quiet in our house right now. But, not for long, K and A will be arriving Tuesday night to spend a week. It has been three months, since we have seen A. I know she has grown and changed a lot.

GONE SHOPPING

They have all gone shopping. I snapped this picture of Karlie right before they left. She looked cute in her little zebra print outfit. She is still not really walking. She can take five steps. We sometimes think that she is not walking because she knows everyone wants her to.

OUR THANKSGIVING SO FAR

Our dinner was really good. I think T did most of the cooking.

Karlie is ready to eat.
C does not always eat very much. But today he ate potatoes, rolls and turkey, lots of turkey. In this picture he is eating a slice of chocolate cream pie.

I think this is the cutest picture yet. This is right after dinner and C was showing Aunt T what he wanted from the Bass Pro Shop ad. Suddenly he was sound asleep and Lulu was also. I think we are taking him to the Bass Pro Shop tomorrow. I have heard it is ready neat at Christmas time.

Karlie will go up to Lulu and yell a happy yell and then start crying. She does it over and over, we haven't figured it out yet.

I think M and T may be going shopping later tonight but not me.
