BEAVER LAKE

We made reservations for the cabin at Beaver Lake before we left for Kansas City, so that on our way home, we could stop and spend a few days..  We stay in the same cabin each time and this is our fourth year to go. We knew it would be pretty this time of year. It did not disappoint us. It is only about three hours from Kansas City and not that much out of the way for us.

This is the road we take after leaving Rogers to go up into the mountain. It is very steep and winding.

As we enter the driveway to our cabin.
The driveway is lined with this rock as we drive up to the cabin.  We mostly only saw deer this year.  We were hoping to see some bald eagles.  We of course saw plenty of crows.

This owl had been sitting on the rock every year since we have been staying in the cabin.

The couple that we rent the cabin from would bring firewood and put on the porch each day and we would have a fire in the fireplace each night.  The second night that we were there, it got down to 20 degrees.

This was the view of the lake from on deck at the cabin.

Hubby took this picture of the deer beside our cabin, when he went out to drink his coffee, the first morning after we arrived.  He said the deer wasn't too sure about him.  I didn't do much sitting on the deck this time.  It was too cold for me.

These pictures were taking from the Lost Bridge marina down the road from our cabin.

These pictures were taking as we were leaving to go back down the mountain to Rogers.  Although it is a twenty to thirty minute drive up and back down the mountain, most of the view is beautiful.
