YOU WON CARTER

At Carter's school each student was asked to draw a picture that had something to do with Kansas to be entered in a contest to celebrate Kansas's birthday. Carter arrived at school a little late Tuesday morning and all the kids ran up to him and said you won Carter. But Carter didn't know what he had won until the teacher told him that the picture he had drawn had won and his picture would be taken with the drawing and put on a cake. His drawing was chosen out of all the 1st graders at his school. One drawing was chosen for each grade.

KIND OF FREAKY

I was cleaning the windows on our front door today and looked out and this was looking up at me.    This owl has a bobble head and it was very windy today so, the wind had turned its head around.  But, still kind of freaky.  I am cleaning because Kim and Abby and the crew from Kansas City will be coming in at the end of the week.  We have not celebrated Christmas with Michelle and family yet.  So, we will be opening gifts on Friday night.  I know Carter is anxious to open his gifts.

ONE MILLION PLUS

This house is located less than a mile from our old house in Maumelle, Ar.  I drove by this house many times and I think I even took pictures of it and put it on my blog.  I always wondered what it looked like on the inside.  Well, I now know.  It is listed for sale for 1,399,000.  These pictures were taken from Realtor.com.  It is a pretty amazing house.

HEART OF DALLAS BOWL AND ADOLPHUS HOTEL

Oklahoma State made it to a bowl game again this year.  It was not as big a bowl this year as it was last year when we traveled to Phoenix to watch them in the Fiesta Bowl.  But, never the less, we traveled to Dallas to watch them play.  Or, the same as last year, Tracy and hubby went to the game and I just went along for the ride.  I stayed in the hotel while they attended the game, but the exciting part for me was it was the Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas.  I love staying in old historic hotels. The Adolphus was built in 1912.  President Bush(daddy),Queen Elizabeth and many other important people have stayed at it.
It was old and nice.  You couldn't even get your own ice.  They had to bring it to you.   We were there on NYE and it wasn't that noisy. A couple came by our door at 3:30a.m. being very loud and they ordered room service.  A few minutes after I heard them, I heard a cart rolling and then heard a knock one their door and someone said room service.  I actually heard several carts going up and down the hall at that time of morning.  We had our champagne at midnight and that was it. We went to a restaurant in the hotel that night called Walt Garrison's Rodeo Bar and Grill.  We knew after we ate, we would not be going back to it the next night.
